Make your vacation complete with a visit to Cayman Islands attractions
There's a lot more to Cayman
Islands than sun and surf. Cayman Islands attractions offer a myriad
of things to see and do, whether you're looking to fill an hour or
a day. With choices as varied as museums, cruises, and historical
sites, you'll never have a dull moment during your visit to Cayman
Islands. Of course, our beautiful beaches remain the reason people
visit year after year. So let us show you some of our favorite places
to play.
Bodden Town
Guard House Park
Explore the many stone cannons, and trek the rising grounds of this
historic park in Cayman Islands' first capital city of Bodden
Town, named after the majority of residents that lived there during
the late 1770s. It is believed that the local volunteer militia
stored weapons, that they would use against attacking marauders,
on this hidden plateau. Admission is free at this park.
Booby
Pond Nature Reserve
Load your camera birdwatchers, and come prepared to snap shots of
rare Red-footed Booby birds at this pond, which has the largest
colony of these species in the Western hemisphere according to the
Cayman Islands National Trust Organization. The organization is
heavily committed to preserving the pond.
Cayman Islands National
Museum
Embrace the Caymanian's seafaring tradition, and trace the
lineage of this mellow culture by eyeing well-kept land and sea
artifacts stored at the Cayman Islands National Museum in Grand
Cayman.
Cayman
Turtle Farm
Investigate phases of a turtle's life cycle at this farm reserve
located on the east coast of the Grand Cayman. More than 16,000
sea turtles reside here.
East End Lighthouse Park
Focus your eyes on this historical lighthouse erected on the site
of Cayman Island's first constructed light structure in Gorling
Bluff.
Hell
It's not the home associated with the devil, but it might have
been just as hot at one period of time. Many pay a visit to this
fiery pit - a scorched terrain of worn coral limestone - in the
West Bay, just north of Seven Mile Beach.
Pedro
St. James Historic Site
Saunter through this historical park, in Grand Cayman, which highlights
a restored 19th century plantation house built by slaves.
Seven Mile Beach
This 5.5-mile-long stretch of beach, the life of the Grand Cayman,
lures most of Cayman Islands visitors. This beach area is
pumping with activity, as steady streams of traffic flow in an out
of its lively bars and restaurants, and its watery deep.
Stingray City
Swash around swarms of fun-loving stingrays at this popular dive
and snorkel site in Grand Cayman.
Queen Elizabeth Botanic
Park
Discover the many beautiful blooms, and unusual animals that adorn
colorful Cayman Islands at this award-winning botanical park in
the Grand Cayman. |
